How to incorporate trends into my wedding dress.

You're looking for your dress and you encounter not only many styles and silhouettes, but new trends. It's a lot of information, and suddenly it can get confusing.

It's important to first clearly define, according to your body and style, which silhouette you'll choose and the materials you feel most identified with. This is what will allow you to look at photos years later and feel that you looked amazing, very much yourself, and still current.

However, it is true that fashion touches always bring freshness to a bridal look; they can also make it more relaxed. Even if your style is very classic and minimalist, you can add fashion touches with the type of fabric, the shade, an unexpected cut, and of course, accessories like the veil, headpiece, hairstyle, makeup, jewelry, and even the bouquet.

To correctly incorporate trends into your dress, my recommendation is not to overdo it and try to include everything that's in fashion. You should clearly identify one, two, or a maximum of three styles of your personality that you want to highlight that day. For example, it could be romantic, but elegant with a touch of sensuality; or modern and minimalist with a touch of romanticism. The order will indicate the importance of each aspect and, therefore, the weight the trend element will have.

Here are some examples of bridal trends for 2024 and what style they can accompany:

1. Oversize Flowers.

Choose this trend to add a touch or highlight a romantic, but also dramatic and modern style.

2. Sheer Fabrics.

This is an ideal effect to create an atmosphere of sensuality and/or naturalness. It accompanies a sexy or boho style.

3. Sparkle and Embellishments.

In American and Latin personality, this is often associated with elegance; however, European fashion doesn't perceive it as elegant as much as it does modern and fun.

4. Minis and Midis.

Showing a bit more leg will always be sexy, but like the miniskirt, it will have a transgressive and therefore modern content.

5. Corset and Bustier.

Structuring the body and highlighting its lines will help you showcase a sexy style.

6. Drop Waist.

Here too, the goal is to highlight the curve between the waist and hips, so this trend tends to add a sexy touch.

7. Full Colors or Accents.

Stepping away from classic white or ivory will undoubtedly bring modernity to the look. If the colors are lighter or pastel, it will be a romantic modern look; black or red will make it sexy, and ginger or an aged tone will transport it to something more boho.

8. Two-piece or Pant Suit.

Breaking the dress rule can certainly place you in the modern style, but equally in the realm of elegance and minimalism with this touch of an empowered and self-confident woman.

9. Detachable Sleeves and Skirts.

The ability to transform a bridal look instantly gives it a modern touch. Again, it depends on the type of sleeves. If they are lace and very close to the skin, they give a sensual and romantic touch. But if they are perhaps puffed in satin and cover more, they can give elegance. If they are fluid and loose, they will take you to a boho style.

Similarly, a tulle overskirt adds romanticism, a satin one adds elegance, and one made of chiffon or light fabrics adds a bohemian touch.

10. Capes, Robes, and Coats.

Throughout history, more layers have always signified elegance. In ancient times, there weren't as many fabrics, and being able to afford several showed wealth and power. Thus, the length of the dress train or the veil, which represent abundance, are elements that can be integrated into these pieces, and if they replace a train on the dress or a mantilla, they also confer modernity.
