Shooting: an influencer's style

Much is said about "influencers" and their relationship with fashion. Not long ago, the importance given to them was criticized, when they would go from one fashion show to another changing clothes without showing any sign of true admiration, much less loyalty to the brand.

In reality, no one is completely loyal to a brand, and honestly, even if it sounds bad coming from me with a brand, haha, no one should be. I think loyalty should only be to yourself and your loved ones; everything else is just a means to express yourself. But I understand this negative idea of overly prostituting the influence you can have on others. Definitely, if it goes against what you truly believe, you shouldn't recommend it, much less consume it.

But there's something I find very interesting about "Influencer style," and that is precisely its naturalness, the fact that today you don't need to be a big movie star, the prettiest, or the brightest for others to listen to you; the only requirement is to be authentic and true to yourself. I do a lot of custom design work, and this idea suits me perfectly; in fact, I love it when girls who are already very recognized as "influencers" ask me directly to dress them or naturally comment when they like something. So, on this occasion, together with my team, we ventured to try this casual, urban, and natural format for photos of our new tops, all pieces where only the buyer decides if they fit their style or not.

For this task, it was necessary to have a good team. First, who would these models be? A very dear client had told me about Juan Carlos and his work with "Influencers Management" (influencersmanagement.im). The most interesting thing about all the girls they represent is that they indeed have a very authentic and natural profile, and that's how Paola (@paomarino12) and Lilia (@lilia.velvet) became the models for this shooting. Each with very different personalities, which was perfect for adapting all the styles of the pieces to what suited each one best. From a bohemian yellow dress, neutral blouses with fairy touches, others with experimental cuts, and some seductive velvet ones for a date or a night out dancing.

To capture authentic moments, it was very easy to think of the work of photographer Luiz Del Río (@luizdelrio.retratos). His portraits, even when he can manipulate light like a true professional, capture the best instant of each person's real look; everything comes as it is, but with attention to the best moment.

I met Luiz digitally precisely through photos of the work of my friend and very professional makeup artist, Bere Chávez (@berechavez) from "The Makeup Center" (@tmc_satelite). There wasn't much to think about; Bere knows how to transport you from something very casual to something super glamorous with the art of makeup.

So we played in the streets of Polanco, creating very "serendipitous" fashion, options for looks on real people with whom we can all feel identified rather than influenced.
